Commissions by Herb Rosenberg

In 1982, Paul Robeson's son, Paul Robeson Jr. worked with Herb Rosenberg to create a bronze three-foot portrait of his father singing. It was subsequently purchased by Rutgers University for their collection and a cast of the sculpture was purchased by the city of Jersey City for a community landscape project in Lafayette Park. The head was incorporated into a twenty-foot tall concrete structure displaying Robeson singing to his most important audience, the community.
